Recommendations for handling your biggest frustration with Muse AI?

What’s been your biggest frustration with Muse AI, and what would you recommend trying before changing your workflow? I’m using it to find specific moments in recorded meetings. Yesterday I searched for a project nickname and then checked the recording manually because I wasn’t sure whether I’d missed a match.

Test a moment you already found. Before changing your workflow, take the passage you located manually and see whether Muse AI can retrieve it using the nickname, a distinctive phrase spoken nearby, and a broader description of the discussion. Keep the timestamp so you’re checking against a known result rather than judging whether the search results look plausible.

If you can view the transcript, check how the nickname appears there. Try that spelling, even if it’s wrong. If that finds the passage, you have a specific workaround to test on other recordings. If the nickname appears correctly but searching it still misses that moment, that’s a different problem, and a useful example to send support. I wouldn’t spend much time inventing alternate queries without first checking what happened at that known spot.

The frustration I’d focus on is the extra verification work. Finding a relevant clip and confirming you found every mention are different goals. For “take me to the discussion,” a nearby phrase might be enough. For “find every time we mentioned this project,” I’d want to try several known passages before trusting an empty result. Set a stopping point for the troubleshooting, too. If each search still sends you back through the recording, the workaround hasn’t solved your actual problem.

If you remember, you heard the nickname being said by seeing it on a shared screen. So first, check if the content where you saw the nickname is searchable at all. I’d put that before the query experiments: checking the transcript makes sense if someone spoke the nickname, but it won’t tell you if Muse can find text that only appeared in a slide.

When rescuing a failed search takes longer than skimming the meeting, I’d stop tweaking the wording. The spoken-versus-screen distinction is worth checking, but I’d put a time limit on troubleshooting. Pick a few moments you can locate manually, then try finding them with the words you actually remember, rather than wording copied from the transcript. That tests whether search fits your real use. An occasional missed nickname wouldn’t make me change workflows. Having to know the exact wording before I can find anything would.
